Image Information
Use a good quality camera of at least 8 megapixels.
Adjust the picture size or quality settings to take pictures of the largest possible size or highest possible picture quality.
Take close-up pictures against a plain (single colour) background.
Check that your picture has a good sharp focus.
Check the dimensions of your image files: they should be at least 2400 pixels on each side.
Finally, please send your original jpeg images. Don't convert them into eg Word or pdf as image quality will be lost.
Note: If the images are very large they will take a while to upload.

The Guild of Enamellers was established in 1978. We are a non-profit-making organisation based in Britain, with members around the world. This reflects our aim to promote enamelling as widely as possible. We do this through our web site; Regional Groups; an Annual Conference which includes a range of tutorial workshops and a masterclass; a Quarterly Journal; an extensive Library and Publications; and Events that stimulate interest and enthusiasm in enamelling.
The Guild of Enamellers offers one annual bursary which entitles the winner to the following: - to one year’s free subscription to The Guild of Enamellers with all accompanying benefits - a free place at the annual residential Spring Conference (full board) with the opportunity to assist a workshop tutor, attend a masterclass & lectures, exhibit your enamels, enter for awards & receive expert assessment. - including standard return travel expenses (within the UK mainland) paid on submission of receipts - a complete set of Guild teaching DVD;s - Vouchers from Vitrum Signum for enamel supplies - Subscription to ‘craft&design’ magazine, editorial & promotional coverage, - plus one to one mentoring session (with a report published in c&d)
Bursary applications must be made to the Bursary Secretary online, through the Guild website by 31st July 2012
The successful candidate will be notified by the end of November and full details will be published in the Winter Guild Journal, on the Guild website & ‘craft&design’ magazine.
Following the Spring Conference the winner, in conjuction with the Editor, will be required to write a report for publication in the Guild’s Summer Journal. The article will also appear in "craft&design" magazine together with a report on the one to one mentoring session.
The decisions reached by the Bursary Selection Panel within the Guild’s Executive Committee, are final and the panel will not be required to provide details of how they came to their decisions in awarding funds. The panel will not be expected to enter into any correspondence with applicants, successful or otherwise.
All work submitted must be your own and using vitreous enamel. Any photo credits must be declared on the application form
By agreeing to the terms & conditions you are giving the Guild of Enamellers and it’s sponsors (craft&design magazine, WG Ball Ltd, Vitrum Signum) permission to use your application images, name, website & email address in their publications/promotional material & on their websites.

Requirements for selection
Some previous experience of vitreous enamelling to guarantee a sustained interest.
Statement declaring how you would benefit from a bursary and how your interest in vitreous enamelling could be developed.
Applicant’s CV (aimed at students, there is no age limit but we would appreciate an indication of your age).
Digital images of 3 different pieces of vitreous enamel work recently made by the applicant. For further information refer to our Image Information
