Conference 2008 - Workshop 4

Wet Laying and Colour Mixing with Jane Short

During this course Jane will demonstrate various methods of wet laying, blending and mixing enamels to give subtle colour changes.
Students will prepare enamels and metal for wet laying, trying both quills and brushes. They will compare how colours look when applied in different ways by mixing enamel colours together before laying, and overlaying various colours over each other.
Most of the enamelling will be done on small samples pieces, preferably silver, also Jane will also demonstrate laying enamel over larger 3 dimensional shapes.
This course would be useful for enamellers new to wet laying or working on silver, those unused to colour blending, or those wishing to find out more about wet laying and mixing colours over larger 3 dimensional shapes.
