Etching made simpler, safer and accurate with Penny Gildea

Penny Gildea began enamelling in the mists of time but always found etching was time consuming, very inaccurate and unsatisfactory. Engraving was a much more acceptable technique, however engraving for long periods of time is no longer an option, so it was wonderful to read Dorothy Cockrell’s article in a Guild journal about an easier method of etching. Areas of metal both large and small can now be quickly and accurately removed and once again another door has been opened for her and she would like to share this development.
